America's Largest Charity Regatta

Shore Party

Horn Point Marina, September 19, 2026 5:30PM

Join us after the Hospice Cup regatta! Together we'll celebrate the gift of hospice care and everyone sailing to support it.  Not a sailor?  Not problem.  Friends, family, neighbors, and guests are all welcome.

Why We're Here

A Legacy of Support for Non-Profit Hospice Care

What started as a small local race in America’s sailing capital has evolved into an annual must-attend event on the local sailing and social calendars.

For more than 40 years, Hospice Cup has continually supported local care programs in our region, including Montgomery & Prince George’s Hospice, Talbot Hospice, Capital Caring Kids, and the Luminis Health Gilchrist Lifecare Institute at Anne Arundel Medical Center.

The non-profit hospice programs that the Cup supports offer compassion, dignity, and a dedication to quality of life for those in our community facing the challenges of serious illness and end-of-life. This includes comfort care for loved ones as well as bereavement and family services not often covered by insurance or medicare.

The Course

Five stops on shore.

1.

Oysters, Burgers, and Brews, Oh My!

Enjoy a delicious spread of everyone's favorite wild annual combo - fresh Chesapeake Bay oysters and smashburgers. There will be appetizers, desserts, and local brews - and orange crushes and dark and stormies of course.

2.

Live Music by Gretna Green.

Enjoy tunes from Annapolis-based psychedelic funk, rock, and blues band Gretna Green!

3.

Live & Silent Auction.

Bid on special items donated by local businesses and supporters. Every winning bid goes directly to support our non-profit hospice care partners. The regatta's feature image, "Windward Douse," painted by 2026 Artist in Residence Bill Sutton will be on the live auction block.

4.

Regatta Awards Ceremony.

Sailors and guests gather to celebrate the winners in each PHRF and One-Design racing class as well as the winners of our Big Five Perpetual Trophies: the Van Metre Family Trophy for best overall performance, the Sajak Family Foundation Trophy for best performance in cruising one-design, the Donnybrook-Brendan Sailing Foundation Trophy for most youth crew, the Geri Manning Memorial Trophy for the top fundraising race crew, and the Hospice Cup Trophy for best 3-year performance.
