Registration Now Open for the 2025 Hospice Cup Regatta

Set your sails for a great cause—registration is now officially open for the 2025 Hospice Cup Regatta, taking place Saturday, September 13, 2025, in Annapolis, Maryland—America’s sailing capital and a top destination for competitive sailing events.

Now in its 44th year, Hospice Cup has evolved into the largest charity regatta in the United States, attracting over 100 boats and nearly 1,000 sailors each year. Founded in 1981 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit, Hospice Cup raises critical funds and awareness for hospice and palliative care programs in the Mid-Atlantic region. Local programs like Montgomery & Prince George’s Hospice, Talbot Hospice, Capital Caring Kids, and Luminis Health Gilchrist Lifecare Institute benefit from the event’s success.

This year’s regatta features three racing circles designed to appeal to competitive yacht racing fleets of all levels:

  • windward-leeward course for one-design and PHRF racers
  • distance course for seasoned big boat competitors
  • cruising fleet course for club racers and casual sailors

With CBYRA-sanctioned scoring and eligibility for high point credit, Hospice Cup is a must-attend for Mid-Atlantic racers. Prizes will be awarded to top finishers in each class, with special recognition for fundraising achievements. The best-performing skipper from the past three years will earn a coveted spot at the 2025 Hospice Regattas National Championship—a premier competition for top-tier charity regatta champions.

Registration for this year’s event can be found by clicking here.

Hospice Cup continues to draw enthusiastic participation from one-design fleets, PHRF competitors, and club racing teams who want to combine top-level racing with charitable impact. Well-known for its premium regatta perks and skippers bags, vibrant on-the-water competition, and legendary shore party at Horn Point Marina, this regatta has become a highlight of the Chesapeake Bay racing calendar.

Whether you’re part of the J/105, J/70, J/22, Melges 15, Snipe, Viper 640, Harbor 20, Beneteau, Tartan, Farr or other competitive or classic fleets—or a passionate cruiser who is looking to support hospice care—this is your chance to make a difference and enjoy one of the top regattas on the East Coast.
